To receive the informal notes of the meeting held on 9th November, 2023 (the meeting was inquorate and proceeded on an informal basis).

The meeting held on 9th November, 2022 was inquorate, and the meeting proceeded on an informal basis.

Membership Update

Advisor Feedback.

Minutes:

The Advisor informed an expression of interest had been received from a faith representative, and work was also being done to recruit additional teacher representatives.

 

4.

SACRE Professional Learning

Advisor to lead.

Minutes:

The Advisor gave a presentation ‘Curriculum for Wales 2022’ with particular emphasis on the RE element, and the role of SACRE, i.e. to advise the LA on matters related to RE and collective worship in schools.

 

A discussion ensued when a member referred to membership on the forum, and said it would be beneficial to have a list of SACRE members including a pen portrait of each member. Action: Sacre Clerk

EAS RVE Partner Update

·       HMD 2023 (Schools and LA to share information)

·       Collective Worship survey for schools

·       Estyn Update

 

Advisor to update and Schools / LA to share information regarding HMD activites.

Minutes:

The Advisor provided and update on the following:

 

·       WG RVE Resources

·       HMD 2023 (Schools and LA to share information)

·       Collective Worship survey for schools

·       Estyn Update – the Advisor reported that the RE element of the Estyn Inspection of Coed-y-Garn Primary was extremely positive, and it was agreed that a letter of congratulations be sent to the School on behalf of SACRE. Action: Sacre Clerk

A discussion ensued regarding training requirements, and it was suggested that consideration be given to the Census results for Blaenau Gwent.
